But any guy who's been shaving for a while knows that these days, the multi-blade game is the only way to go. Of course, every brand (from luxe versions and drugstore razors to stylish direct-to-consumer options) promise a smoother, faster, nick-free experience, but not all razors live up to the hype—or their price tag. Over the past few months, we had our team and a few friends put a wide range of razors through their paces, on all types of faces and hair types. We judged them on comfort, closeness, durability and—just as importantly—value.

What we found is that while there's no one-size-fits-all solution, a few clear winners emerged.
