If you haven’t gotten a few good knit polos for this summer yet, then now’s the time to upgrade.

You Need More Knit Polos

We’ve arrived at knit polo season. What started as a niche, vintage-leaning flex has quietly become a full-on staple over the past few seasons. And it makes sense. Knit polos—cut from cotton, linen or fine-gauge wool—have an easy polish that reads expensive without trying too hard. There’s a built-in throwback charm, the kind that suggests you know a great tailor or the best way to mix a Negroni, even if you don’t.

They also do more than your average shirt. Slightly dressier than a pique polo, more relaxed than a button-down, they hit that elusive middle ground. Wear one with chinos, tailored shorts or those pleated trousers you’ve been meaning to try. Toss it under a lightweight suit to look relaxed and feel cool. Best of all, they’re forgiving. The texture, the drape, the collar—they flatter pretty much everyone. Which explains why every guy from lean to linebacker has one in rotation right now. Think of it as the easiest upgrade you can make: same effort as a T-shirt, significantly better results.

5 Stylish Items to Buy This Week

You won’t find a better deal on a summer suit. Engineered Garments and GU have teamed up again for a second capsule collection based on a modern reinterpretation of 1950s American resort style. Designed by founder Daiki Suzuki, the standout for us is this Cordlane jacket (there are also matching pants to create a suit). Cut from a crisp cotton-blend fabric, it looks like a smoother, more modern seersucker. And it was specially designed to minimize skin contact, making it feel as cool as it looks.
