Wythe x Yuketen Suede Canoe Moc
Wythe x Yuketen Suede Canoe Moc
Cory Ohlendorf

We made it to Friday. Why not treat yourself to some fresh kicks? I don’t know why, maybe it’s still tied to the start of school, but I always want new shoes come fall. And right now, I’m feeling these green moccasins from Wythe, made by the fine footwear folks at Yuketen. Do anything you want, but lay off of my green suede shoes, will ya?

The New Shoes on Our Radar

Danner x Taylor Stitch Ridge Boot

Is it time to re-evaluate the shoes in your closet? Maybe this list will help get you going in the right direction. There are so many great shoes dropping these days, we thought we would pull a few of our current favorites to showcase. And at the top of the season, there are a slew of collaborations dropping. But they won’t last long. From a pair of comfy suede moccasins and tonal sneakers to some fall-ready Chelsea boots, these are the shoes our team can’t stop talking about.

Our Picks

Wythe x Yuketen Suede Canoe Moc

You know what makes a classic shoe like a suede moccasin feel fresh? A modern colorway. Wythe has collaborated with Yuketen on a cool camp moc, but it's the rich evergreen shade that really got us excited. It's a hue that looks sharp with jeans or chinos, along with grey flannel pants or even a navy suit. They're made in Maine the old-fashioned way—hand-punched and hand-sewn with awl, needle, and thread on Yuketen's proprietary last. The six layer interior provides additional support and durability to the shoe while memory foam and arch support hidden under the leather insole to provide modern all-day comfort.

Clarks Originals Desert Nomad Chukka

Want something a little different than your average chukka? Try the Desert Nomad silhouette from Clarks. First introduced in 1973, the mid-top style sits on the same last as the brand's signature Desert Trek boots. Cut from a premium textured leather, it's finished with brass eyelet hooks, leather laces and a chunky yet lightweight crepe sole.

Saucony x Universal Works Jazz Nxt Sneaker

We really appreciate the understated style of this trainer. Tonal and textural, the monochromatic design comes courtesy of UK-based clothing label, Universal Works, who collaborated with Saucony in celebration of the footwear brand's 125-year anniversary. The suede uppers have subtle and considered details including playful stitching around the Saucony logo and a hand-stitched Universal Works emblem on the toe cap.

Blundstone x L.L. Bean Chelsea Boot

L.L. Bean and Blundstone combined two and a half centuries of legendary bootmaking to build a limited-edition Chelsea boot that is sure to stand the test of time. Constructed from hardy leather on the exterior with soft leather lining, the side elastic panels are printed with an L.L. Bean-inspired buffalo plaid. It will peek out of your pant leg just enough to get noticed. They're rugged, comfortable and endlessly practical, you can literally wear these in any weather all fall and winter.

Taylor Stitch teamed up with the outdoor experts at Danner on a limited edition boot built for trailblazers, sportsmen and city boys alike. Designed and constructed in the U.S., it's built off the Danner Ridge—a lighter-weight and more versatile hiking boot with classic Danner styling. But this has waxed canvas accents from the masters at Halley Stevensons with a vintage-inspired painted camo finish. These are rugged boots, but you can wear them as easily as you do your favorite sneakers.

Your Favorite Denim Brand Is Making Coffee

Wilson's cafe

3sixteen is celebrating a milestone this year—20 years in the fashion game. And one of the ways they're commemorating the anniversary is by opening a café called Wilson's. Owners Andrew Chen and Johan Lam share an appreciation for great coffee and have discovered the crossover between thoughtfully made denim and the level of care that goes into carefully sourcing, roasting, preparing and presenting coffee at a high level. They've tapped some of their favorite shops to highlight single-origin roasts for a month-long pop-up. Each shop's coffees will be available in weekly intervals and will also be sold by the bag for home brewing. The café will be serving it up 9-5 until closing day on Sunday, October 15th at their Nolita flagship store at 190 Elizabeth Street. Come for the cool, limited-edition merch, stay for a cup of coffee.- Leon Hedgepeth
